Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using PDF Invoice Reader ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you disagree with any part of these terms, you may not access the Service.
These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the Service.
Description of Service
PDF Invoice Reader is a web-based application that:
- Processes PDF invoices and receipts
- Extracts key financial data using AI technology
- Calculates Canadian taxes (GST, HST, PST)
- Integrates with accounting software
- Provides data export and reporting features
Account Registration
Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old and capable of entering into legally binding contracts to use our Service.
Account Security
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
- You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
- You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account
- We recommend using strong passwords and two-factor authentication
Accurate Information
You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to update such information to keep it accurate.
Acceptable Use Policy
Permitted Use
You may use our Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree to use the Service only to:
- Process legitimate business invoices and receipts
- Extract data for accounting and bookkeeping purposes
- Generate reports for your business operations
Prohibited Use
You agree NOT to use the Service to:
- Process fraudulent or falsified documents
- Violate any applicable laws or regulations
- Infringe upon intellectual property rights
- Transmit malicious code or viruses
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service
- Use the Service for competitive analysis or reverse engineering
- Resell or redistribute the Service without authorization
Subscription and Payment
Subscription Plans
We offer various subscription plans with different features and processing limits. Details are available on our pricing page.
Billing
- Recurring Charges: Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled
- Price Changes: We'll notify you 30 days before any price increases
- Payment Methods: We accept major credit cards and process payments through Stripe
- Currency: All prices are in Canadian dollars unless otherwise specified
Free Trial
New users may be eligible for a free trial period. Trial terms will be clearly communicated during signup.
Refund Policy
We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee for new subscriptions. Contact support for refund requests.
Intellectual Property Rights
Our Property
The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by PDF Invoice Reader and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
Your Content
You retain all rights to the documents and data you upload to our Service. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to process your content solely for the purpose of providing the Service.
Feedback
Any feedback, suggestions, or ideas you provide about the Service may be used by us without compensation or attribution to you.
Data Processing and Accuracy
Processing Accuracy
While we strive for high accuracy in data extraction, we cannot guarantee 100% accuracy. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying all extracted data before use.
Data Storage
- Your uploaded documents are stored securely in Canadian data centers
- We do not store original documents. Extracted invoice data is retained until you delete it from your account.
- You can delete your data at any time through your account settings
Data Backup
While we maintain regular backups, we recommend keeping your own copies of important documents.
Service Availability
Uptime
We strive to maintain 99.9% uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted access to the Service.
Maintenance
Scheduled maintenance will be announced in advance when possible. Emergency maintenance may occur without notice.
Modifications
We reserve the right to modify or discontinue features with reasonable notice to users.
Third-Party Services
Our Service integrates with third-party services such as:
- QuickBooks, Xero, Wave (accounting software)
- Stripe (payment processing)
- AWS (cloud infrastructure)
Your use of integrated services is subject to their respective terms and conditions.
Limitation of Liability
Disclaimer
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.
Limitation
IN NO EVENT SHALL PDF INVOICE READER BE LIABLE FOR:
- Indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
- Loss of profits, data, or business opportunities
- Errors or inaccuracies in extracted data
- Damages exceeding the amount paid for the Service in the past 12 months
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless PDF Invoice Reader from any claims arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.
Termination
By You
You may terminate your account at any time through your account settings or by contacting support.
By Us
We may terminate or suspend your account immediately, without prior notice, if you breach these Terms.
Effect of Termination
- Access to the Service will cease immediately
- Your data will be deleted within 30 days
- You may request a data export before termination
- Paid subscriptions will not be refunded for partial periods
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
Any disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration in Toronto, Ontario, unless prohibited by law.
Privacy
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective upon posting unless otherwise specified.
Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
Material changes will be notified via email or prominent notice on the Service.
Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect.
Entire Agreement
These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and PDF Invoice Reader regarding the use of the Service.
